About NOB Foundation

Health Care For All, No One Behind

Who We Are

No One Behind(NOB) Foundation is a  nonprofit organization that specializes in providing essential medical aid and educational resources to under-resourced communities in Africa.

NOB started as a foundation inspired by our founder Dr. Stephen Boateng and his passion for individuals like his sister, Matilda who lives with sickle cell disease. He established this foundation because of Matilda’s experiences along with the myriad healthcare challenges he witnessed other people face while growing up in Ghana.

The foundation was originally launched on December 13, 2019, the 25th birthday of Matilda as an honor to her for her resilience in continuing to fight sickle cell disease.

Our Mission

At NOB Foundation, our mission is to provide essential medications, education resources, food and hygiene items to the individuals enrolled in our programs. We also collaborate with our pharmacy partners and other local non-profit organizations to expand our outreach to the patients who are often neglected due to where they live. Our programs and outreach events primarily support (1) individuals living with sickle cell disease, (2) maternal health and (3) malaria treatment and prevention in under-resourced communities in Africa.

Our Vision

Our vision is to empower and provide quality healthcare access to all around the world, especially for those who need it the most. Our vision embodies our slogan which is healthcare for all, leaving No One Behind.

Founders Message

My motivation to start NOB Foundation was inspired by two things: my sister Matilda, who suffers from sickle cell disease, along with my own experiences growing up in Ghana. I witnessed the challenges that she and others faced and continue to face in gaining access to quality healthcare. As a healthcare provider, I envision a world where healthcare can be accessible to all and while on this journey, we leave No One Behind by also supporting individuals in underserved communities.

At NOB Foundation, we strive to provide global health equity through our programs and outreach events. Our focus is to provide medical aid, drive change through educational conversations to debunk myths about sickle cell disease and produce measurable and sustainable impact in the communities we serve.

Our primary agenda in our sickle cell programs is to not only leverage our local partnerships with pharmacies to support sickle cell warriors with their routine medicines like folic acid but also encourage the conversation and awareness about sickle cell in the general public. This agenda also utilizes various outreach events to provide free genotype testing and education as a tool to help minimize the sickle cell disease frequency and burden in nations where the disease is very prevalent. Our maternal health program also ensures expecting mothers facing challenges with prenatal care can be supported.

With nearly half of the world’s population at risk for malaria, we also aim to align with the World Health Organization’s vision to control and eradicate malaria. At the NOB Foundation, we leverage partnerships with local healthcare organizations and other non-profits to provide medical and educational resources on malaria treatment and prevention to expecting mothers and sickle cell patients who both are at considerably higher risk of contracting and experiencing severe symptoms from malaria which comes with a high mortality risk.

Overall, we are very excited about the opportunities that our programs and outreach events provide to the communities we serve. Together we can make health care accessible to all, leaving No One Behind!
