Capacity Building for Sickle Cell Warriors.
Building skills, community, and confidence so warriors can thrive beyond their diagnosis.
- About the Program
At the NOB Foundation, we believe a sickle cell diagnosis should never define the limits of what a person can achieve. The Capacity Building for Sickle Cell Warriors program was created to equip warriors with the tools, skills, and community they need to build fulfilling lives — professionally, personally, and emotionally.
Through a range of initiatives, we walk alongside warriors as they grow in confidence, develop marketable skills, and find strength in one another.
PROGRAM INITIATIVES
- Warriors in Tech Quarterly Webinars: Workshops designed for current and future cohorts, focused on personal and professional development, career readiness, and empowerment beyond health-related challenges.
- Safe Spaces for Warriors: Virtual and in-person forums where warriors can access education, mental and emotional support, and peer-to-peer learning — on topics identified by warriors themselves.
- Personal and Professional Development Workshops: Practical workshops equipping warriors with networking skills, soft skills, and job market guidance, tailored to the unique challenges of living with sickle cell disease.
- Celebrating Our Warriors: At every community outreach, we take time to honor the lives of sickle cell warriors — reminding them that their courage, value, and potential are celebrated and never forgotten.
