GENOTYPE Testing Program

  • Over 300 million people (and counting) globally are sickle cell trait carriers
  • In the United States alone, where newborn screening is nationwide, it is estimated that only 16% of people know their sickle cell trait status. This number can be extrapolated even higher in regions like Africa where sickle cell is thought to have originated
  • Research has shown that most sickle cell trait carriers only find out about their trait status after having a child with sickle cell disease or after experiencing a complication from sickle cell trait

The NOB Foundation GENOTYPE Testing Program provides FREE genotype testing to individuals who are unaware of their trait status irrespective of their race or ethnicity.

This program also ensures evidence-based medical education on sickle cell disease and trait is provided to the general public.

Are you an individual unaware of your sickle cell trait status? Click ENROLL to register and join our program.
You will be provided evidence-based information on sickle cell trait and you could qualify to get a FREE Genotype test.
